No more excuses
If you have not already heard, the USA Basketball mens' team did actually beat Greece today. However, the victory was not a walk in the park. Final score, I believe was 77 -71. I think all the die-hards out there should prepare themselves for the ultimate shame which is this: The USA Men's Basketball team may very well go home with no medal at all. An even bigger shame is that I really don't think these NBA olympic players care. Sure, they were excited and half honored to play for the Olympic team, but I think they could care less that they are being embarrassed. With their multi million dollar contracts and 100 cars, these players have no incentive to win. And please, everyone stop with the excuses that the team has not played together long enough or that the USA team is not used to the international rules. If the NBA was holding a draft today, the same USA players would be drafted before the rest of the world's players based on talent, individual talent that is. Here's a thought, in 10 years the rest of the world surpasses the USA in players drafted into the NBA. Not to far fetched when you consider that many of the young players are already coming from outside of the US. These young foreign players have better fundamentals, and also understand the need for a strong work ethic and team basketball. Listen up Allen Iverson, strong work ethic and team basketball. What a concept.
